Rudy Project confirms itself as an international sports leader, achieving new and important victories with world cycling champions. Once more, another astounding performance at the Grand Boucle: the Spanish cyclist, Oscar Freire of the Rabobank team brought the green jersey home, while Austrian, Bernard Kohl of the Gerolsteiner team won the polka dot jersey.
Oscar Freire, came out top in the points league with a score of 270, while the Viennese racer, the best performer at the Grand Boucle, pulled out way ahead of the 2008 Tour de France winner, Carlos Sastre.
Bernard Koll was awarded 3rd place, while Denis Menchov of the Rabobank team closed in 4th place. The Rudy Project athletes also won four stages of the race.
Great satisfaction also came from the young athletes, with 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, for the two Liquigas team cyclists, Roman Kreuzinger and Vincenzo Nibali.
